The prototype for the world’s most perfect logistic city is known as King Abdullah Economic City or KAEC. The city is located approximately 60 miles from Saudi Arabia’s capital Jeddah, surrounded by desert and close to the Red Sea. The city covers an area of 70 square miles and is currently under construction. It is expected to be unveiled to the rest of the world in around 10 years’ time.
What’s interesting about the allegedly perfect city is the industrial logistic system and the world’s largest and most modern sea port. With seamless connections, a financial island, beach-side facilities and residential projects, the city is one of the four cities that will be built for Saudi Arabia’s economic diversity. The kingdom is known as one of the richest countries in the world, whose main source of revenues comes from oil. It is no surprise, then, that it has invested a staggering 3.1 trillion baht to build this city. High speed trains will connect KAEC with capital Jeddah. The station is expected to be operational by the end of this year. We will be keeping a close watch on the amazing technological advancements sure to come out of this brand new city.
